It’s not a question of whether things will break, but rather how quickly they will break. They did not plan or execute this transition properly. Dirty data, complex processes and a lack of expertise will be the root causes for failure.

No one will ever ask (or beg you for that matter) to come back. That is not happening, not by a long shot. The print industry is all but gone and no one will be hiring.

I’m tired of all the “mandates” being forced downwards from senior management. We will not bow down and cower into submission. Speak up. Push back. Be defiant.

Google Gemini has been caught hacking into other companies. Great going, Sammy Sun and the tech nerd who pushed the Google workspace platform on to their entire company. Guess management will have to adapt to being audited by outsiders for data breaches. D-mb fools.

@tc All management does is live in spreadsheets. That's essentially their typical workday.

The executives need to put down their opium pipes, stop hiding in meeting paloozas all day, and start doing the daily work of the frontline workers. We don’t care about your ROI goals. Because guess what? Even if the company did achieve its unrealistic financial and operational objectives, the employees would not benefit in any way, shape or form. There is no incentive from the employees’ perspective. There’s no guarantee of continued employment, let alone raises and career progression. It’s a lose-lose situation.

All of these companies that are dumping huge amounts of money into AI are going to be in for a HUGE surprise when the AI bubble bursts into their faces. Shareholders are going to put the CEOs in the hot seat, especially after all the jobs that they eliminated in the obsessive interest in “productivity.” And the fact the whistle has been blown about AI acting as a soulless being (like certain people in CUSA management) has no guardrails endangers everyone.

The last poster has it right: expect CUSA to bring people back but make it very expensive for them. Time for them to “adapt.’

Let them lay us all off, then we will demand a KING’S RANSOM when they beg us to come back. Six-figure salaries, no less! They don’t do proper cost-benefit analyses. They want instant gratification. They don’t consider the hidden costs, such as the opportunity costs of having to fix all the errors which AI generates. So, play along in their little game. AI is gunning for McSammy if he’s not careful. The monster will turn on him very fast. Just ask how things are going since the tea was spilled by Anthropic. It’s alive.
