I was due my first severance pay after my layoff today. I did not receive it. I check with some other employees who were laid off and some did and some didn’t. I don’t know why I thought it would work smoothly. Nothing about FIS runs smoothly.

All - if you have signed a settlement agreement, that is a legally binding contract between you and FIS. If FIS have not paid you your agreed settlement on the date or dates specified in the agreement, speak with the Legal Counsel you should have discussed your settlement agreement with before signing it. FIS will be in breach of contract if (i) they have not paid you and (ii) you have abided by the terms of the agreement. If you did not sign the agreement, you have no recourse. If you did sign the agreement, go back to the original Legal Counsel that you discussed the agreement with and they will be happy to take the necessary steps on your behalf.
I have not been paid yet either. I signed the severance agreement already. Typical.
@at after handling various forms of paperwork for a very long, it is easy to say that many people do not sign their paperwork. It's surprising, but true. After completing complex forms, they can remain unsigned. Clearly, this was another kind of error. And yet not surprising because why follow through and make sure that a laid off employee gets paid?
Did you sign the severance agreement? I didn't get my payment in the first payroll cycle after I was terminated. I asked the people's office, and they said I didn't sign the agreement. I told them I never received the agreement, so they had to send me a new one. There are so many layoffs going on, so they might have missed it. But this is FIS, so you never know if they are trying to sc--w you.
I’m sorry. I’m so embarrassed that this is how they treat people.
