I’ve been a part of Citi since 2018 and it felt like a completely different world back then. Maybe Mike Corbat wasn’t the best CEO and the organization struggled a lot back then, but at least it felt like working in a normal, non-abusive and non-toxic environment. We might have resolved the reg consent orders, but at a cost of sacrificing the human capital. Shame.

Fully agree, that was good time, working on the project without this insanse pressure and toxic environment, I can't see how this company was changed from really good and stable place to work, I was proud to be a part of Citi , now no anymore ...
@bs well AI isn’t some sort of magical, problem solving tool- it requires proper implementation, use cases and overall governance, and in order to achieve that, Citi needs to have properly skilled resources. Given the current uncertainty triggered by never-ending layoffs and restructuring plans, I would be honestly surprised to see either external talents joining the company now or internal talents willing to stay within the next year or two horizon. And if I were to play a fortuneteller baba, I would assume Citi will have another set of new/re-opened reg issues incoming in a next few years - driven by a mix of tech, data and AI gaps.
@OP do you really think decades of data issues were resolved? If the current administration wasn’t in place C would be in big trouble. Mark my words, if AI doesn’t rule the world literally in a few years, C will have another data issue.
@OP funny you say that.. I joined back in 2017 and it felt like an enjoyable work environment and everyone was great to be around...
I just handed in my notice last month and now doing a complete career change and went back to studying. I couldn't bear the toxic workplace, micromanagement and useless mid level managers that contribute nothing.. also after dealing with HR I have no idea how those departments didn't get laid off.. they are the most useless waste of resources.
The company also drastically changed in recent years especially after COVID. Everyone just wants to work from home and when they are in the office no one talks.. I'm done with it now. Basically not to work for a bank again or large US companies. They are the worst
