what is the escalation protocol and consequence model for not complying totally with WPE rules? e.g. through the end of the year I already know/am planning to not be compliant (remote for week of thanksgiving, remote for week of Columbus day, some back to back remote days here or there) and I want to 'run this risk' in a somewhat smart way. what is guidance for managers to handle someone like me? top performer, only one in my role for the group, etc.

@OP Don't just fail to go in - Email your manager of your plans ahead of time and ask if that would be OK. They still have discretion to allow you to miss a week of in office compliance.
@ah I'm currently doing this and I highly recommend it!
Forget the price of gas have you guys seen that they are rationing oil?! I drive 35 miles one way to the office.. my oil changes are pretty regular and now the cost of an oil change and vehicle maintenance is about to double. We have zero public transportation in Florida so it’s officially going to be too unaffordable to have a job and commute to the office.
But super awesome that Monahan got that 17% raise!
I love coming to office. Gas prices are great and i am winning. Love fighting for a spot to sit and hear other co workers on phone being distracted. Its really awesome, i hope they change it to 5 days a week and minimum 10 hours in office. Wow and the free coffee and tea? Amazing!
@ay My senior manager just called out all her direct reports that didn't meet the minimum badge swipes in the last 6 weeks. Our line of business was required to start the new policy when the first scare was announced earlier in the year.
@d9 In summary, "Do as I say, not as I do".
@af Not being a wise guy but I have heard your statement before. What happened to those that blatantly broke rules? Nothing, because their management covered up everything. There are two sets of rules here, ones that the majority of employees must adhere to or else. The same rules apply to management with one glaring difference, they can choose which ones to ignore. Nothing changes and time marches on.
@b1 That would be great. I know some of our competitors let holidays, half days & volunteer time count as office days. Can’t get a straight answer on this for how BOA is handling
does a half day of vacation/PTO count like a full for the purposes of time in offices? If so, I might just take a bunch of half days to avoid scrutiny
@af managers are going to be held on compliance by who? The Karens in hr? Those $&&& are driving this company to the ground.
If they are still doing 4 of 6 weeks compliance (not sure of that answer) we might be okay i.e. no consequences with a non-compliant week here or there.
Same. I will come & go as a need to. I won’t be in the office on weeks I take a few days of vacation. And will not be there Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. I’m fine giving my manager a heads up, but it’s not me asking for permission, just letting you know. I have to do what works for me. If the company doesn’t agree, I also understand they have that right. I just choose to live my life for me & not a company that only care about themselves.
Wish I was retired so I could enjoy my popcorn and watch the WPE fiasco unfold from the sidelines
@af I did discuss with my manager about my plans. I gave my retirement notice. Who cares about compliance? First day for the new WPE policy, and I observed a manager in my building come in late and left early. I sit near a window overlooking the entrance area. Nothing changed for that manager.
It is still manager discretion but since managers are going to be "held to the fire" on compliance, make sure you discuss your plans with your manager, in advance.
How many managers with assigned offices do you think are in the office 4 days per week?
