They aren’t even trying to hide their plans anymore. It is common knowledge that once you hit late 40’s you are toast. Good luck becoming a retiree.

I have less than 5 years and I am concerned enough that I am talking to my financial advisor about what happens if I don’t make it to 55. Do I need to get another job or if I am let go can I retire from working? He ran my numbers to help with my financial outlook. He also provided me contacts for medical insurance. I’m looking into medical insurance now. That is the biggest question I have now. My goal has always been to retire but that doesn’t mean that is what the company wants from me.

Are they getting rid of the people at the Chemical sites in Texas before 55? Is there currently a reorg/shakup?
It is sad that campus recruiters drank koolaid and are telling recruits that EM is a good career choice.
Nobody that does not have a sponsor, that is under 40 should assume they will attain full retirement age as an employee of EM.
