I have a 2 hour round trip to Dallas HQ that I do everyday. I am looking forward to my commute on Monday morning. In the morning it gives me a chance to plan my day. And in the evening I get the opportunity to reflect on my day while driving home. I am too tired to do anything once I am home so I have no trouble falling asleep on time. I love working here. Thank you JS and RTO.

I’ve been doing 1 1/2 one way commutes for the last 30 years of my career. The last time I lived close to work, I was fired. Won’t make that mistake again.

@jm They are essentially making everyone an hourly employee! You get paid for the hours worked, nothing more, nothing less. And if you work less than 40 hours a week frim the office, you get surplus'd ! 👀
The biggest complaint, I just wish it made sense. I commute to an office only to work entirely independently, then collaborate on teams calls with people that are scattered all over the world. We were remote long before Covid for that reason. There isn’t anybody on my team in the same location. Heck even going back to hybrid or with some wfh flexibility would be great. The lasted pushes of the presence report now require me to take PTO or a sick day if I need to be home for any reason. Like you can’t work from home at all, not even for 1/2 a day or a couple hours if you need to go in a bit later for a dr appt or a service call at your home. Like we didn’t do it full time for years.
Me too! I love the focused time for audio books and I’m learning a new language!

Sounds like you had an option to keep your job and made a choice. You decided it was worth it or you wouldn't be doing this. You still have options. You could move closer or look for another job.

How pathetic do you have to be to only think about and reflect about AT&T? Do you even pay attention to your family...oh wait, you're too tired, nevermind.
No matter what location I ever work for T at, I always had a minimum of a 45 minute commute. I used the time exactly as you do and actually enjoyed the peace and quiet, often forgoing the radio, phone and earbuds.
