SAS (#1 and #2 in the Great Place to Work survey a few years ago) didn't make the top 300 this year. Maybe the layoffs and uncertainty about the company's future are dragging it down.

@hs Yes. Fortune uses lists from Great Place to Work. Forbes uses Statista.

Maybe those employees who were contacted chose not to participate for reasons. But if you believe Forbes (and why would they lie to everyone), there was never an application for SAS to voluntarily stop submitting. Perhaps you're thinking of the Great Place to Work survey. I know that was a lot of work from a lot of people.

This looks like a reasonable cost-cutting measure. SAS had dropped out of the top 100 on those lists, and there is little value in a lower ranking.

Wasn't there literally a whole group that was responsible for pursuing rankings on lists like this by drumming up stories, submitting employee satisfaction survey results and stuff like that? (I'm being serious)
If so, maybe that group got laid off? (not as seriously)

This topic again? While I agree this has been covered 10x. This site is like groundhogs day…
Nvidia, Google, and Microsoft made the top five. All three enjoy large stable revenue streams.
Otherwise, only a few on this "Tech" list are tech companies. Many are healthcare and banking firms. Layoffs and uncertainty may be dragging down other tech companies besides SAS.
In the current economy, tech workers may be happier in non-tech companies that have stable revenue streams.
At the current rate, there won't be any tech workers employed!
More likely, it’s that every place to work su-ks just as badly and it’s the human race that could do with better ratings.
