I've finally realized that doing a good job doesn't protect you here at all. The worst part isn't even offshore teams, it's the local managers and coworkers who dump their mess on everyone else and somehow never get held responsible. They expect everyone underneath them to work themselves into the ground while they get to look good and collect their bonuses. I'm just tired of playing that game.

Consider this the impetus for you to get a new job somewhere else.
You deserve to work in a decent environment, with good pay and opportunities to grow.
Better jobs are out there - go get yourself one!
That is what happens when accountabilty flows downward but credit flows upward. People doing the actual work end up absorbing bad decisions, unrealistic deadlines and other people's mistakes, while management is judged on whether the numbers look good.
After a while, good employees figure out that working harder does not necessarily protect them or get rewarded. It just makes them the person everyone relies on to clean up the next mess. That is when people stop going above and beyond and start doing exactly what the job requires.
