Forms went out to a lot of areas at different levels asking about ability and willingness to travel internationally. This being a part of their roles expanding. Asking about if they have passports and ability to obtain and how soon they can get passports. Heard that even lower level production roles were advised of the additional international travel as part of their roles. Our area of claims were provided the details and forms for this regarding our specific roles. Personally with my kids this is not an option for me.

When my area got this form some of us flat out told our leader this isn't going to happen unless Allstate ponies up the big bucks. And to let the higher ups know that we are pretty laughing at this.

Nobody disputed that Allstate sends staff to India — we already established that. I'm asking for evidence of the bit you invented: employees being laid off while they're there, abandoned without a flight home, unable to pay some mysterious “leaving India fee” and ending up in an Indian jail. Notice how your story has suddenly changed from something Allstate supposedly does to “watchu think gon happen?” That's called making sh-t up, baby boy.

If the plan now is to send peons then watchu think gon happen when its layoff time and they’re over there?? Here’s your notice and a $50 voucher for a return flight baby boy!!! When they can’t pay customs the leaving India fee, then it’s off to the clink in a 3rd world country!
@hs I'm calling bullsh-t on this. For all Allstate's faults, I've never heard of them sending US employees to India to train staff and then abandoning them there, broke and jobless, when their visas expire. Allstate outsourcing work to India is real; this Locked Up Abroad nonsense is another matter entirely. Unless you've got evidence that this has actually happened, it sounds like you're just making sh-t up to stir the pot and give yourself another excuse to vent your bitterness.
lol, just LOL at this company, the plan is to ship off low level workers to a literal 3rd world dump to train the barely English speaking locals to work claims, then abandoning them in a foreign country once the ol work visa expires, leaving them broke, jobless and trapped on the other side of the Earth! This sounds like an episode of Locked Up Abroad! They have been trying this for a decade or more, it never works, too much needful to do!!

I declined as well. I don't like walking across the hall at my house for this company. Let alone going through the nightmare of overseas travel to third world cesspools.
It was a big no to all questions for me. Hopefully it will be my golden ticket to the front of the RIF and package line. 🤞
