lots of incompetent low iq managers & directors, including lazy brown nosers who kiss their rings while doing nothing all day leaving more workload for the other half of the team that works their tail off.
@b0 I second that. There are way too many clueless and unqualified “leaders” in this company!
They can’t come up with realistic plans and they don’t accept suggestions from their ICs who are oftentimes more knowledgeable and more experienced. Their inflated egos can’t accept that.
Anyone still "working heads up" for this sh---y place is nothing more than an incessant bootlicker. Congratulations, I suppose...
@ac @ac Not at all and it appears that hearing what you want to hear is an epidemic around here. I show up early and I stay late and I worked a lot of OT it was eliminated in our org a couple of years ago. I will go where I am told to go and do what I am told to do as long as it is legal. I am always looking for work to do because if you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean.
But for almost a year I have showed up and looked around trying to find out what we are working on from week to week and there is no one that knows what we are even doing as an org.
As long as the is no leadership to lead, what do you suggest? Go to an office somewhere and see if they need their trash emptied? I sit in front of the computer all day waiting to be told what our next project is but no one even knows who is on the team or what org we are a part of now. Are we GN&T? Are we N&T? Are we Finance? Are we FP&A? Are we some new acronym?
I check the contact list and everyone from Dan down changes every couple of weeks it seems and when I ask my manager who they are they don't even know because they have no one to ask.
So if you think I need someone to hold my hand it must be wishful thinking on your part. I appreciate the offer but that ain't my jam.
Is there dead weight? You betcha. Not because we want to be dead weight. We are told to be dead weight when we show up ready to work and there is no one in charge to lead us to the work.
Try it. If you are a tech, show up and grab a truck not knowing if it is yours and go out to swap some RRUs not knowing which ones need to be swapped. Try logging into your scanner without having access or a password and you have no one to ask... I mean no one to hold your precious hand... you little devil you... I see you... wink wink.
So yeah, I will never show up and do nothing if there something to do and there are leaders showing the way to the work. I will even find things to do without leaders if it is within my power.
But for the last year the message is that we still have a job. We still have a paycheck. But we have no leadership, no mission and no idea what is going on.
So why would I leave money on the table if Verizon is just giving it away?
I'll work. Show me where it is and what you need me to do. Not you personally. We already know what you want.
I'm getting fat(er) sitting around getting my money for nuthin'. I hate this but no one else is offering this much money to sit around waiting for a managers and leaders to show up. I am here. I am ready. I am waiting. Not for you though... for work... I am waiting for the work and su-king that teet until it gets here or until I am told it will never show up and we have to be let go and the severance if offered.

Halfway through that song on the Razor's Edge tour a bunch of warning lights started flashing around the seating area to my left that was full of large canisters of some type.
When the telescopic cannons started extending, it hit me and I shouted "Cover you ears!!"
Brian shouted "FIRE!!!" and the first canister went off. By the end of the song we couldn't hear and would never forget what a great night it was.
@OP Been here a long time and only about 25% are doing the work. The rest are just su-king on the VZ teet.
