Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Cigna’s hiring process and lack of communication

Is anyone else noticing that Cigna’s hiring process has become extremely tedious and lacking communication? I worked here for years and left the org to gain greater experience because as I tried to advance I was running into roadblocks with my background not being enough. I have been trying to get back in for years. I make it to the hr interviews and told I’m progressing forward. Then an interview never comes and recruiters and communication is awful on just simply telling me no. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've noticed the same issue- after starting my new job (after quitting Cigna). The common denominator was a recent move of HR to India. I may have re-considered the position if I had known (it's a bad sign)...

@OP you don't want to work there honestly. They are mostly hiring director, sr director or higher positions, or positions for India or Philippines. Trust me when I say you are only a number to this company. This company has gone to $hit in 2 years. Now if you are from CAPITAL ONE, you might have a better chance of getting in. LOL

@OP No offense, but have you read the other posts on this layoff board? Almost all onshore employees have been effected by layoffs. The ones that are left are living in constant fear that they are next. While under this stress we are doing the job of at least four other people, while constantly putting out the fires caused by our newly hired offshore teams. Is this really the environment you want to be in? The grass surely is greener somewhere else.

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting to receive different results."

You've gotten their answer loud and clear, many different times, but are refusing to accept what their answer is.

Their answer is: NO.

They either don't want to, or are not willing to re-hire you, for whatever reasons.
You need to accept this, in order to move forward.
The smart thing for you to do at this point, is to stop ba----g your head up against the Cigna wall, and just move on to applying to different companies.

Surely there is a job for you out there, just FIND it.
Think of an industry, then do a Wikipedia search for that industry.
See what companies come up on the list.
Click onto each company's website which is on that list, and look in their jobs/hiring section to see what's available.
Repeat daily, for hours at a time, using every different industry that appeals to you.
Apply relentlessly.

Guaranteed you'll get quicker and more fruitful responses, and probably an offer quite soon, doing this.

Stop looking backward, and start moving forward.
Your future is in front of you.

This incompetence in the hiring process is everywhere. Those who lack the proper training, skills, and ability to handle pressure or communication often cannot apply proper and reasonable judgment. Their solution is simply not to do their job and instead, to ghost you.
The questions are, 1. Do you really want to work with people like that? and 2. Why these people have jobs while competent ones lose their jobs?

Budgets are in flux at the moment. For positions approved to be hired, they are now being pulled back. I wouldn't necessarily blame the recruiter. There's a lot going on internally and sharing that with the recruiter isn't a top priority, so they don't know what to do.

Yeah, all these large for-profit health insurance corporations (e.g., Cigna, Elevance, Humana, Centene) are now or soon to be all Indian or Philippine workforce. No longer American citizens.

Why in the world the Federal Government and CMS do not recognize this and fire these corporations from administrating government funded (tax payer dollars) Medicare Medical Plans is beyond me!

@OP

Why would this be any different than all the other sh---y processes and priorities here?

Because if you’re in the USA, Cigna isnt really hiring. They are going through the motions but giving the jobs to people in Hyderabad India or the Philippines. They have to interview you to avoid EOCC issues, but they’re not really hiring.

Plus this isn’t the company you used to work at. You’re better off not working here as you’re just as likely to get laid off 3 months into your job as you are to not get ghosted in the interview.
