I am retiring in March, so I told my manager that if there was a layoff before that I would volunteer. Today after they met with their director, I got a lot of questions about documenting my processes. And if I could document as much as possible before Monday (most has been documented already, but Codex has changed my workflow). I agreed because my manager is a saint and this is a favor to me at this point..

Employees who work for a company named "oracle" should know the layoff date and much more! :P
I think it’s Monday or Tuesday too but that my direct manager doesn’t know for a fact yet if I’m out. I think they must have been told to make sure everything their team does is documented by EOB today. I’ve been documenting some of my tasks at a more granular level and my manager and I were going to meet on Monday to go over it. Then she switched it to today. I had a meeting with her to go over the documentation and there were a few things she wanted me to include. I told her I’d do it Monday and she said no, it needs to be done now and I did it while we were still on zoom.
I did the same last year. I'm retired and it is pretty nice not having to worry about Oracle.
@a4 Down votes to your post shows compliant and submissive sheeple are the biggest problem. They seem to believe that independence once earned is never lost.
I recently did a similar thing: shared I was heading for the exit and volunteered for any upcoming layoff. Have not heard a peep in response so far.
@b5 it really is though bro
@a1 Monday is IDC off. The earliest for IDC now is Tuesday.
f~ck off, troll
nothing is going to happen on a 3rd week of month in the middle of vesting period
@a5 How does one go about doing that?
@ad in Canada you are guaranteed to get all of the vests for 60 days
@a1 Monday is a holiday in India
@ad that all depends on what Oracle decides to set as your end date. Last August when they laid us off, they kept everyone on the payroll for about 6 weeks - until Sept 22 (1 day after options vested). That allowed us to walk out the door with our September vest. They could choose to do something similar this round, or they could terminate your employment before your options vest to claw back those shares. Depends on how LE and CM are feeling.
Are RSU vesting due in end of September vested if laid off on Monday?
Wear a mask with your manager's face regularly.
@a4 Kudos for taking that stance!
AI companies are setting up to escape accountability for planned nastiness, like those anti-virus companies, but much bigger.
@a4 you can get a six month deferral for the visual identification biometrics.
Our team got a mandatory email this week saying we are required to sign up and start using a new (IDV) facial biometrics recognition to help prevent unauthorized access. The software will also randomly check for activity throughout our shift as well. This needs to be done by Oct 6th 2026. I also found out it’s a third party software. As such, I put a call into my manager to lay me off in the next round as I WILL not participate. This is starting to get so out of hand. Over 10 years in the company and its coming to this cr-p now? Wow!
Confirmed today that it’s next week. For those ready to retire, this is good news. Sorry about everyone else who is impacted
@OP that’s a legit story. I was “laid off” last August - well volunteered so I could retire. Walked out the door with $140k of severance and another $370k in vested options. 2 days before the RIF my manager asked me to write up as much as I could - I was happy to return the favor. So yea, sounds like this is indeed happening Monday.
It is Monday for the US, Canada and India. Confirmed by myself (m4) and my colleague (m5).
And, to the trolls, don’t bother trying to downvote my comment. I’m just as nervous as the rest of you about my job and my RSUs
