@nx CareFirst is a total disaster after the BP tornado came thru. BP’s playbook is to create enough chaos and swirl to distract from his utter incompetence. He is beyond awful. He tanked the morale of CareFirst employees and left CareFirst in financial ruins after spending all our money on his failed venture capital ideas and office renovations. Now he is repeating the same cr-p at Florida Blue- the man is a con artist.

Does your offer have a certain number of years of employment at which a higher incentive is offered than the five years?

@227 sadly, that is the general consensus. They seemed to be focused on the goal of reducing staff and overall cost, and underestimated the lack of documented processes. The experience that left via the program exposed their weakness and demonstrated how the undervalued that departing core.

@nx Yep. The VSP was great for those that took it. The concept is fine. However, it feels like there was minimal knowledge transfer planned for. They just let hundreds of their most experienced people leave without an actual transition plan. I've had multiple meetings since then where someone just told me "oh yeah, the person that knew that left with the VSP and we're still trying to figure things out."

@kt same, and I hear it’s a total disaster at CareFirst in the wake of those who exited through VSP.

I obviously can't speak for another person's situation, but taking the VSP at CareFirst was the best career decision I ever made. If you have the option, it's definitely worth some serious thought.

Exactly what he did at CareFirst except we had to be 55 and 5 years of service. He's a narcissist and a pathological liar. It didnt even take him a year to destroy your company too. Worst CEO ever. Should never be given the opportunity to run a company again

@c7 Yes, it came from HR. Basically said 50 over, plus years of service qualify for VSP. Going of what has happened in the past, if not enough employees to take the VSP, they'll start laying people off, most likely in that bracket first. And most likely by EOY or first of next year.

I wonder if it's only certain departments because I meet those requirements and I did not get one nor did a couple of my teammates who also meet the requirements.

If you are 50 years of older an email went out that you qualify for the “VSP” (Voluntary Separation Program). If you’re not at that age then you won’t get offered the option. I’d say next year even more layoffs are on the horizon and it will come to pass.

No, current employee and haven't heard anything about that. What did it say? Did it come from HR?
