Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

I survived the last several rounds of layoffs but I don't feel lucky

My responsibilities have tripled since then, my entire team is anxious, morale is at its lowest, and leadership hasn't addressed the burnout. Instead of gratitude, I feel overwhelmed and resentful. Layoffs are sometimes just as bad for those who are "lucky" to stay.

@bh have you considered budgeting and financial planning?

I was laid off 2 years ago. I had spent my entire 10 years at Fidelity worried about that possibility, and when it happened it was honestly a relief. Looking back I see how unhealthy and toxic everything about this company is. I can't imagine having to do RTO now, pretending that everything going on in the world is normal.

If you are RIF-ed, the package is pretty good, and you will very likely end up in a better situation somewhere else, though it is a bit unnerving in the short-term.

If you are nearing retirement, go find an independent financial planner. It might surprise you that you don't have to work as long as you thought, or at the same salary. Don't just go by the Fidelity retirement tools.

@OP are you being held against your will. You are CHOOSING to be there. If I was laid off and struggling financially because of it I'd find this post ridiculous and offensive.
Seriously - what's wrong with you?

WI leadership is saying: "The Joy is Back" with this new operating model. (Maddening laughter intensifies)

I would take a layoff over 100% RTO

Wish it would happen sooner

@OP I’m not with this company but I totally feel you. Seem to be the trend these days regardless of organization. Is this emblematic of overall leadership in North America?
