Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

So does anyone have solid layoff info?

I keep hearing this month they're letting people go but nobody can tell me more

I doubt its happening this month....no WARN Notice filed with State of Ohio yet...

Ohio's Mini-WARN Act (R.C. 4113.31), which took effect on September 29, 2025, requires covered employers to provide at least 60 days' advance written notice before qualifying plant closings or mass layoffs.

Overview of Ohio Mini-WARN Law Covered Employers: Businesses with 100 or more employees who collectively work at least 4,000 hours per week (excluding overtime).

Trigger Events: A plant closing or a layoff of 50 or more employees at a single site within a 30-day period.Key Difference from Federal Law: The state statute omits the federal 33% workforce percentage threshold for mass layoffs, meaning any layoff hitting 50+ workers at a single site may trigger state notice requirements.

@qd strategy? Make it intolerable? Raise expectations and put people on PIPs?

well, layoffs are inevitable, but the strategy Kroger is implementing is, making you force quit rather than mass layoffs.

they want that slow transition to GCC, cause of which we could see those linked in post more snd more until Q2 2028

@jw it’s one thing to ask a question it’s another thing to beat a dead horse after you didn’t get the answer you wanted.

@jt the laid off person definitely sent a chill down my spine. Whatever the situation, it looked like they got rid of someone who speaks up and asks questions. We are working under quite the regime.

There was definitely a guy that posted yesterday that he got laid off “recently”. The other post was a woman who rage quit and retired early (good for her!).

@fc no one got laid off. You saw a little that up and quit unannounced after a 27 year career or something like that.

@b8 blame leadership. It's their job to build culture and keep the noise away. They're doing a terrible job and have been for well over a year. We're tired of the canned responses, it's clear they'll be laying us off and they'll be damned if we get a severance

People have been saying “this month” since January 2026.

People leave breadcrumbs. It’s taxing at this point.
