Ominous new messaging on PulsePoint telesceens

Has anyone else noticed the ominous new Big Brother messaging on the PulsePoint telescreens? The message is to report other associates to the corporate authorities if they display any of several listed behaviors, including withdrawing and decreasing work performance. Creepy!

@18v

this whole blacklisting thing by managers is exactly why nobody should hesitate to follow the careers of your manager that forced you out and then seek to destroy their reputation and career, livelihood, and quality of life, just as they have yours! Don’t feel guilty about it…because, remember, they did it to you!

@ja there is a specific National department that will not allow any associate to transfer to another department doing the same work just under a different manager/leader/director. So in order to get out -you need to leave the work you do and attempt to transfer a new type of department. A notice comes out that this process is in effect for a year - and every year it is renewed. So if you have a toxic leader you way out is limited, quit, or try to transfer to a "new department" with a new title designation - that is if you are not blacklisted by your current manager/etc when they do a reference check -

Like it or lump it should be on the socks they send out every year to :"thank you" for all your hard work> joke

Can anyone share what behaviors are listed on the PulsePoint screens? I’m not near an office so I can’t see for myself.

I wonder how many reports they got for Gail and her incompetence.

My org is a burning dumpster fire and everyone is trying to move to other roles. Now this new dude is in charge because the old one got CANNED and he’s trying to tell us we can’t transfer internally for 6 months. Boy you hold me back from where I want to be for 6 months, you’ll get lower than the bare minimum from me. This ain’t India and you can’t force people to do sh-t they don’t want to do.

The corporate exhortation to grass up colleagues over slight behavior changes will backfire. Remember when companies encouraged employees to perceive harassment happening in every workplace interaction? HR was bombarded with specious accusations.

Under St-lin they had posters that said “Smite false shock workers” who I guess were the quiet quitters of the day. So maybe that was the inspiration! I would totally get some pics of that and see if someone can leak it somewhere. Maybe they can give out special NARC points and if you get enough you can redeem them for items and you can get your own Vest like McVesty! Or they can do arm bands!!

@dq This is great! Tomorrow I plan on reporting my boss - for the past several years sure seems uninspired, has no time, etc. Finally I can get that person the help they need! Like hopefully get their a-s out the door. Toxic person 100%

Another instance where management responsibilities are being farmed out to the individual contributor. It’s management job to keep people motivated and working. If that’s not the job, then report them.

@df How can 10 people be working from the same computer? Sounds made up.

@cp Exactly! Who knows how many people will start reporting their coworkers without evidence because they think it might save them from a riff. Also, what if you are going through something personal but you and your manager have an understanding. You’re personal business isn’t any of your coworkers business but apparently Elevance is making it their business. This company preaches about ethics then wants coworkers to rat each other out. A new low for this company indeed.

@d6 I have worked with our counterparts in India and one team of 10 employees over there were sharing one computer. So, most likely not using this pulse thing.

@d6 There they probably have messages encouraging employees to invite friends and family to interview for jobs.

I am not near a pulse point what are telescreens - TV in lobby areas? Are what are the list of things you are to report - I am 2 hrs away from a pulse point but if I can't get answers I may just drive the 2 hrs and take screen shots.

And so the people who still work remote totally how are they reported?

Very concerning-what if someone just decided to rat out ‘the competition’-without evidence?

Hmmm.. are they looking for symptoms of depression or trying to catch people quiet quitting? On the one hand, they want to work you to death, but then on the other hand, they want to keep you alive? Wouldn't it be great if there were an organization with a goal of improving the health of all humanity that could step in to help these poor humans!!!

I guess they are trying to beef up their riff lists. I wonder if they just assume the person reporting another is correct in their assumptions. What is the full list of behaviors and is HR going to investigate or just take the reporters word. Who has time for those investigations? How pathetic this company has become.

I think your title should have read “telescreens” but I agree that it is a creepy cultish tone.
