Pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. is implementing further job reductions, with 54 employees at its Rahway facility being laid off. These cuts are a component of a broader strategy to reduce expenses by $3 billion by 2027. The company previously announced similar workforce reductions earlier in the year. Savings generated from these measures are intended to fund the development of new products. The latest layoffs will occur in two stages in late 2026 and early 2027.
