One more step untill dsd is gone, it should only take a few months to figure out how to shut down everything, the RTM might remain to ensure displays get built, Trax, data gathering. Everything else will be gone.

Why would you leave coke!? Those reps never throw cases and the merchandisers there seem hard working

Lmao, Kellonova lady in this area does same thing, moved some Pringles from a display to the shelf then goes “whew! Thank God it’s Friday!” Like she just did seriously hard work, meanwhile I’m in the middle of Walmart aisle with a pallet of sh-t that I’ll be working for hours and she will be out of the store in 15 minutes, yeah lady, you just have it so hard..:
I came here from Coke. 10000x easier work, do not kid yourselves. I was a sales rep at Coke and our merch team worked hard, this team looks like they’re on parole comparatively.
Kellanova has reps. They do nothing. Walk around with a tablet and probably answer surveys. Dude sits in his car half the day. This lady comes into ShopRite and moves cheese it’s from one side of the rack to the other and takes a picture like she just cured cancer. She thinks she works hard too. Meanwhile the Pepsi and Coke reps are putting up 7 pallets of soda and she thinks she’s a vendor “just like them” lol
@r2 hahaha well yeah you’re right, I said closer definitely not there yet! But they are trying. I have stores that are taking viz picks more serious -finally - and are working harder to correct on hands.
@r2 I think I know why. 1 supercenter has audits every order and every time it’s pretty close if you exclude the NOS and crazy add ons to the order. It’s not perfect but Walmart isn’t shooting for perfect every single time. Another store hardly ever audits and the on hands are so crazy because of mispicks over time.

If and when that day will or will not come, and DSD, is done. I can see it going to a third party vendor, but they will only do so much.
SKU’s will be limited, only the major players on the shelf. PRD’s come in and the majority of that will be shelf stock, worked by store employees.
Maybe some Mondelez employees to walk accounts. It will be a sad day, if it ever came to this.

I agree, with the comment, that is has gone on for years, Have your personal plans ready.
Either way, you will be prepared, and ready to move on if it happens.
Your skills, that you learned, will help you in the next tradition.
It’s hard to say when they will exit completely but look at the direction we’re going. This newest restructure is pushing out many regional customers. Also— look at Walmart, they are getting closer to perfecting our orders that they have now been generating for a couple of years.
Dad is not going anywhere but we are gone you don't need reps or merchandiser to be a DSD company
@OP folks have been saying this ever since Keebler gave up DSD or longer with no sources or anything to back it up at all. Stop. Any job could end. Do your best to try to have an emergency savings of at least three months living expense money, get a resume ready, practice interview, and be ready at all times. If it ends it ends. move on.
So you think it will be like Kellogg’s and Hershey or will they move to having a third party vendor like Crossmark, Acosta, Advantage, etc. carrying out the tasks?
@OP Where are you getting your information, or why are you saying this? Do you know something? Seems like a premature synopsis. I do think it's going to end, just not in a few months.
