How has BMC declined so much in only a few years? I’ve worked here for decades and enjoyed it. I am thinking of retiring early and jumping ship. Is this everybody’s experience or just my luck? I couldn’t imagine being mid to early career and spending the next 20 to 30 years like this….

BMC is the worst company that I have ever worked for in my 20 year tech career. There’s a few good people there, but the culture seems to be hiring and promoting the incompetent-from the very too down. Like you, I thought maybe all companies were becoming this horrible-but I left and am working where I’m valued and leadership knows what it’s doing. It’s best to get off a sinking ship when you can.
Grass isn’t always greener… but I am doing 10 peoples job due to firing and not back filling or back filling with non technical people for technical roles. It’s become exhausting.
Layoffs everywhere, companies are letting people go like they are garbage bags every so often. I am afraid of jumping ship and then getting caught in another Titanic. What to do in this economy?
