What is the best guest estimate as to when AK will retire?
Is there any chance at this point that RT will NOT be the new CEO?

Last time Arvind was expected to retire the execs were speculating that Rob T wouldn't get it. Since then Arvind has continued to move more under Rob, most recent being Marketing. The role of Chief Marketing Officer and Corporate Marketing are now gone. If Arvind retires and Rob T doesn't replace him there will be a significant restructuring. The board knows what Arvind is doing so it looks like Rob T is the definite replacement for Arvind
@cb someone should tell him after he has left that he was terrible and ibm is worse off from his tenure and policies
He will follow the Ginni playbook of announcing it shortly after an earnings release to take place and the end of the following quarter and then will stick around for another 6-9 months after that as Chairman until the new CEO is ready to take that role too. As far as when, who knows, I'm shocked it hasn't happened yet, but it's going to be soon, probably after either the October or January call.
I was just thinking about this. Do you think he has an idea how this quarters numbers are looking? Earnings call is Oct 21st. So he must be watching them like a hawk. My guess is if those numbers don’t look good by a certain date before Oct. 21st he is out. No retirement announcement before we can assume the numbers are good.
