After repeated layoffs, burnout, and a media leadership culture that seems to treat people as disposable, dropping a 20+ year media agency partner without a pitch feels completely on brand. It’s the same management philosophy applied at scale: destroy institutional knowledge, call it transformation, and assume a shiny new operating model will compensate for the human damage left behind. Then send an internal email written by AI, announcing the new media partner - an email so cringe that reads like ChatGPT huffed a whiteboard full of “synergy” and “growth driver” and vomited out a LinkedIn thought-leadership post wearing a suit

@22c Because most of the “leaders” are new. Their titles contain the wording consultant or contractor.
How long are we going to allow our leaders to run around acting like they just started and asking what can they can do to make things better? Such a dodge of responsibility. Can we normalize telling them they have already been told but ignored it.
I saw corps strip farmers of water... and eventually of land.
Saw them transform Night City into a machine fueled by people's crushed spirits, broken dreams and emptied pockets. Corps've long controlled our lives, taken lots... and now they're after our souls! I've declared war not because capitalism's a thorn in my side or outta nostalgia for an America gone by. This war's a people's war against a system that's spiralled outta our control. It's a war against the fu---n' forces of entropy, understand?
@1q2 Please tell these stories. I heard many people whispering about horror stories about this person
@1r8 😭. WTH is going on?
I’m now in agreement with others — Ramon and Athena need to go and GO NOW!
Karma is KFC leaving Pepsi for Coke. Announcement expected any day now.
@19h I can confirm this. I’m one of the people who was forced out by Josep Hernandez a few years ago, and I have many stories to tell about the toxic behavior I experienced
@eg What a disgrace of an email
@153 This is old news. Everyone knows what a toxic leader Josep Hernandez is, and everyone has already embraced it fully
Can we talk about Insights Stephan and Kate Schardt?
I’m one of the people Josep Hernandez bullied at PepsiCo, and I know of other victims at other companies he worked at as well. At first, he made me feel valued. The moment I started questioning some of his shady ways (like insisting on communicating only on WhatsApp instead of email, like him not signing off on any of the important decisions) he turned on me. He bullied me, isolated me from the rest of the team and eventually pushed me out. I saw the same pattern happen to others too… people who suddenly were forced out of the company. And needless to say, there was the chaos he was provoking, the constant fear and confusion, lies and lack of direction.
that’s just awful leadership... a huge decision made with barely any transparency and obvious conflict concerns. but then again, it’s the same leadership team known for bullying people into line.
very toxic environment to work in these days... especially S&T
I read the email written with AI that Shyam shared, and I was honestly shocked. It felt incredibly shallow and almost insulting considering it was supposed to describe one of the most important chapters for the media team. But sadly, it also says a lot about the level of this team and its leadership. I’ve watched people like Josep Hernandez be protected and kept around while destroying entire teams and breaking people down. Somehow, that behavior seems to be tolerated while everyone else is expected to just move on
This is the same leadership that chose to lay off some of the organization’s best people. It’s the same toxic, xenophobic leadership that, somehow, continues to be protected
