Going in to the office is like a dose of human sadness. Of course everyone is all smiles when an exec comes in so dear leader can be happy. But here’s what I see. Rows of grown adults sitting in their cubicles with their heads down scrolling on their phones and jiggling the mouse in their open spreadsheet every couple minutes. No one is talking. No one is collaborating. Most people avoid eye contact. We’re all just waiting for our phone alarms to go off so we can get our 8 hours and leave. Others- post what you see in your office.
Abandon hope all who enter.

@ea Chandler aisles are the smallest as they have those useless cabinets all over the floor, stupid signs nobody looks at, and other nonsense. The restacks are designed to make people more miserable while the CPG people get their own fancy section downstairs all to themselves the "important and special" people get their offices, or the ones who hang out all day every day in the reserved spaces. The rest are left to deal with the floor zombies.
It has been a sh-tshow for sometime. Just keeps getting worse. Leadership doesn't care and are too busy enjoying the perks from their positions. FWF
@OP I don’t see that on my floor. Everyone seems to be working hard, especially my team. Of course I don’t walk the full floor scoping every cube out to see what everyone is doing. You say no one is talking, but if they were you would complain that people are chit chatting too much and distracting you.
@eq if you put good performers in a bad system, the system will win. It's not complicated
Employees are products of their work environment. HY has destroyed it, intentionally. You can't downsize people every two weeks for over 5 years and expect the survivors to give AF. No one cares anymore, and that's how the current group of failed executives like it. They just want us all gone. If you don't know several great employees that have been downsized after doing everything right, you just don't know they many people. In any event, your number is coming soon enough. Shart comes to work every day desperately trying to get rid of you, and it'll happen eventually.
@c8 I apologize, I am one of those zombies. I used to be a happy person at work, but I am old and tired of this nonsense. I try to watch where I'm going but the aisles are way too small. I worry about the coming remodel and if they'll remove the cubes. Counting the months til retirement

No wonder WF cant stop getting rid of you do nothings who are too clueless to not post online about how you sit in a room full of do nothings all day and still whine about how unfair life is.

When a company treats its employees like expendable livestock, they react accordingly. You don’t see cows making any extra effort to avoid the sla-ghterhouse.
@c8 odd given the restack. My floor is maybe 1/2 full on a busy day. I can get the same cube pretty much everyday. Most of my row is empty. Don’t worry. When they finally finish 4th floors in A and B it’ll be as--s to elbows every day as they cram people into desks with no walls
Am in Chandler and it's like this. Even worse, the floors are so cramped you can't even walk to the can or get coffee without being hit multiple times by zombies walking with their heads down.
and yet they lay off those of us you actually worked and came into the office without complaining.
It’s interesting, then, that so many complain of layoffs and “unfair” reviews when all they do all day is play on their phones and jiggle their mouses every now and again to make it look like they’re working. This is certainly how it is in my department. Lots of useless, dishonest people jiggling their mouses all day and half-asssing their work—and of course they always scream bloody mu---r whenever they’re disciplined or when new rules are implemented to combat their laziness and dishonesty.
Love burning 40 minutes of gas each way, to sit in a cube and take teams calls, while I listen to news reports about glaciers collapsing and ki-ling a thousand people in nepal

The whole thing is is schizophrenic at best and diabolical at worst. First you take away assigned (personalized) workspaces and replace with "drop in" open seating and then you force everyone back in the office.
Remove all sense of belonging at work (no desk photos, consistent space to know neighbors, lack of private space when needed) and then tell everyone that you have to be in the office for collaboration and connection. There is zero connection.
Hard fail.
That's pretty much what it's like in the few admin buildings I've been in. No one cares, by design.
