There was a recent director meeting which was stated "we have to many sales manager" expect cuts here.

So when's the next layoff?
From my observation, the good Sales Managers (SM's) eventually outgrow their roles and responsibilities and migrate to a Channel Partner role. There is naturally high turnover among AMs, and who can blame them? They can't earn a decent living with all the clawbacks they face every month from leadership.
There is the Sales Leadership Academy (SLA) program, but even after you come out of that program, you can be sitting on the sidelines waiting a year or more to land a spot.
The problem isn't too many sales managers, it is the fact that most everyone in sales leadership at CDW is weak and/or incompetent.

Agree...since we're firing
More VP's, directors, and managers need to go.
HR too...they don't do anything except help replace fired coworkers (we can outsource the entire HR dept over to India and no one would notice).
I'm waiting for some Indian AM's to start dialing for dollars as well. Anything to save a buck.
Not good for any of us left stateside but at least the stock is going up a little. Can't wait to not have to work. Loved the place...now hate it. It's like being in prison with this job market.
Only hope is some of our leaders having a stroke. The good leaders are all being forced out or leaving on their own and we're stuck with ones that only care about themselves.

What do some of these people at the SVP and EVP levels do? Really, when we have an all-hands call it seems like they are tooting their own horns to justify their existence and check the box on a PMP. Are you being strategic or just acting like it??

I hope there was also an all VP meeting where they stated "we have too many sales directors, expect cuts here.”
