When is clean-up happening for thousands of directors, ADs, AVPs under Ramesh Babu Ramakrishn*n coming?? Simply too many folks bullying others

@bc I would phrase it more as replace Vivek and Shankar’s former position with real technical leaders from real tech companies that have backgrounds in hands on software delivery at least within the past 20 years. It’s hard to find those people and get them, it would be expensive. It would also be worth it because highly skilled technical leaders from outside this company will point out the elephants in the room. This is the only way to reinvent GTS. More layoffs, outsourcing, rebadging moves are not going to do it. Especially if the rumors are true. The rumors seem to indicate they will target individual contributors next and keep Senior Directors and above. It’s the Senior Directors and above who define the ways of working, that are not working. So you can pretty much guarantee software delivery is going to get worse here if they keep the leadership and out the individual contributors. Verizon has pretty simple needs. They need a better than average network, and great customer engagement software. Both of which require talented, engaged, happy software developers, SRE teams, network engineers working on these things. What we need less of are “stakeholders”, “managers”, technical leads that behave exactly like managers. Yet they’re going to target the people we need and keep the one’s we have too much of. I recommend quiet quitting if your rebadged, take that time to practice your skills, or even start your own company. Most other fortune 500’s are running this same playbook. It’s time to turn away from them and see about getting on with smaller companies that still have some humanity left.

@ck, pretty weak troll attempt. No one’s buying your BS. Maybe try keeping it rhetorically consistent next time..

Btw, the modern gap between U.S. and European work cultures was established in the 1980s. That’s when the U.S. shifted toward longer hours and higher individual output, while Europe prioritized shorter workweeks and mandated paid vacation. H-1B was established in the 1990s.

Being an Indian , myself don't like the attitude of Indian leaders . They think they own their business, it's their company and they spoil the work life balance with people at 40 years itself getting to heart problems and diabetes. Change the culture like we have in Australia and Europe where work life balance is given top priority . U.S was spoiled by Indians as Indians will always say I am ready to do 24*7 work just for the sake of money . For Indians , money is everything

@cc same thing in finance. leaders living HOURS AWAY from offices. pretending to be online. laying off ALL of the lake mary building would be a huge win for verizon stockholders

Especially with the Senior leadership under the current CISO, siloed, and some leader have been moved so many times,
many promises made in initiatives, but failed in enterprise operationalizing them like DTEX, Exposure Management, Asset reconciliation. all talk no movement. Runbooks nonexistent, directors work less than 20 hours a week, because they are busy managing rental properties or tending to their boat in Miami

Fire Vivek and this entire group will collapse. You won't even need any layoffs the rest of the team will leave on their own.

First, fire Ra-owl and his team. He is arrogant on calls and treats people poorly. Given the size of his team, the website they maintain is total junk. Everyone on his team needs to be fired.

It is happening soon at onshore and offshore both. Offshore is 100% done including band 5 leadership. Expect 50% cut in first 2 years, AI would eat offshore jobs first
