One of Humana’s main competitors, United announced today that they are going to drop the requirement for prior authorization for a broad range of procedures.
Question to you Humana, will you match your competitor and follow suit???

@mb I know! Who ever has heard of a health insurance corporation outsourcing their employee’s health insurance?!
I remember the day that happened a lot of employees were secretly upset about it, mostly only talking with other employees about it. Because as we all know, do not dare tell your direct leaders if you have a problem with something.
Funny that Humana has cut back on prior authorizations for its members but the employees have coverage through another company. That company has strict prior authorization requirements.

Cannot tell you how frustrating it has been in the past when I had a sore throat and my Primary Care Physician and ordered a prior authorization for some prescription lozenges, only to have Humana keep stalling and stalling and stalling until finally they denied. So then I would have to appeal, only to have more stalling and stalling and stalling, until finally they approve. Unfortunately, by then my sore throat was gone.
