After "successful" rollout of ODW and "well tested" SDD framework making Dell engineers redundant, a big WFR coming up under Rob Mason's org starting from Sept and will go on till Jan end. Though what I heard is for Rob Mason, the whole of Dell IT will be affected as they are planning to cut 40% of jobs over 3 major waves: Sept->Nov->Jan. Sept and Nov cuts might be light and planned by senior leaders and managers, the Jan will be a "bloodbath" according to the words of some senior leaders and even they don't know who would be let go in Jan. Contractors will be heavily affected but permanent employees won't be spared as well.
Well some "GOOD" news for those who survive: You might get a big hike in Feb after the job cuts are complete

this is the cycle, get simple off the shelf apps that consultants promise the world. fast fwd, they can't do anything or keep up with the speed of business. enter: rise of the CSS. Reaction years later: this needs to be in IT. IT finds and ba----dizes the original with bolt ons, everything gets crazy expensive. leaders force a simplification. and we again restart the cycle.

Dell IT was useless anyway. In don't even know why we had an IT Dept.
Imagine my surprise when Dell IT wanted to reimage my entire machine for a simple configuration fix. I told them he-l no and fixed it myself.
Here Dell professes to have great data management and data protection products but we don't even use them. Dell IT doesn't even know how to use them. It's laughable.

Oooooo yes. Knowledge sharing with Harness is a „shoot to the knee” thing. I assume that most of the „new” developers made out of the degraded managers are enlisted already for the next wave.
