I heard that “key” management personnel who interface with the industry in Calgary (i.e. Petroleum Club) will remain in Calgary. I wonder where they will have their office!! 🧐. And, who are these people?? 🥸

Any updates on how many roles are staying in Calgary? Seems like a few folks are weaseling their way into getting an exception to stay.
@26j Why on earth would they slink back to FAP? They abandoned that relic in 2013, and crawling back now would be the corporate equivalent of admitting they’ve been circling the drain ever since. People like them don’t return to old spaces — they chase whatever shiny, over‑priced downtown tower lets them pretend they’re still relevant. They’ll be hunting for the newest glass monument with a penthouse view so they can preen, posture, and feed their narcissistic delusion of importance. FAP doesn’t give them status, spectacle, or the illusion of superiority. It’s a downgrade, and narcissists don’t do downgrades — they only do stages where they can perform.
Contractors have reported renovating space in Fifth Avenue Place on behalf of Imperial oil.
Controllers and Treasurers. This is the so called "key management" that does not collaborate with "industry" and will likely remain in Calgary. They only get connect and get instructions from Houston. All key Treasury activities have been off-shored. The favorites are being retained and paid way over market. Good luck. It wont last long.
@b6 Absolutely! This “collaboration” is a masterpiece of corporate theatre. Management slap a shiny label on it, pretend it’s some bold, forward‑thinking initiative, and hope no one notices it’s just a bargain‑bin excuse to drag the head office to Strathcona. Truly cutting‑edge innovation in pretending a relocation is teamwork.

Yeah, my guess is they're trying to keep it more limited, but seems like a number of senior leaders have been able to justify keeping their roles in Calgary while their teams move to Edmonton. What a farce.
Yeah, not like all the plebs ahem…engineers also interface with the entire oilfield service industry which is located in Calgary.
