Are others hearing more layoffs in Jan or Sept?

@57n settle for 3.75 months plus benefits for the time-frame. You wont get more than that even if you go to a lawyer. I assume you are salaried and not unionized.

@4ve If someone completed 3 years, 11 months in canada? Still insist for 4 months severance ir it will reduce to 3?
I just left a fairly senior role a month or two ago. Nothing scaled for layoffs that I’m aware of but they will keep chipping away towards the 2030 goals. The AI goals will be next. The problem is the corporate teams are being staffed with external hires that don’t really understand the problems to be solved in the markets and take blanket consultant advice and try to build solutions first and then gaslight the businesses into thinking these solutions will somehow solve a problem. Eventually this disconnect will lead to a new shakeup as the promised impacts don’t materialize and things will get real chippy really fast. I do hold out hope that the company can find its greatness again but man this is a tough culture at the moment.
@4ct except no less than 4 months. Get a lawyer if necessary, they will cave in, they have no leverage in Canada.

It’s not fear-mongering as someone (hr person?) mentioned in this string. It is the new reality of a Cargill that has become a caricature of what once was a leading example of what an entrepreneurial family-owned conglomerate could be. That ship sailed a long time ago.
Now it’s no different than any other corporation; soulless and pandering to the latest management fad while pulling the rug from under their employees feet; playing favorites within the “good ole boys club” and some very concerning nepotistic people moves…. Food LATAM business. “Wink-wink”.
Leaving was the best thing I could have ever experienced. If you are in that burning dumpster get out!! Do not drink the cool-aid like some of the HR minions posting their cringey pictures from their global meetings playing games and wasting money while employees get short changed.

@30d well said. My only advice to Cargill employees would be to continue looking for an exit if you are still there. Leaving was a big eye opener and a blessing in disguise.
@1rz mo--n, layoffs have been continuing one position at a time. Open your eyes and see that you work for a sh-t company that preaches people first but lays off at every opportunity.
They are just asking a question.
@1nf citric acid plant in Brazil was affected today and some other production roles in the Uberlandia site too.
