To anybody out there. Be honest, not discouraging, I have another job opportunity with ATT. It would be a field service rep, you go and sell to customers that have appointments for internet install. The pay sounds great, does anybody know anything about taking this job?

Not tough enough for Verizon? Can’t tickle your boss’s 4nus? Then leave
Any new job will tell you all the good and leave out the bad. They’re trying to sell you on coming to work there because they want you to do so. If you’re getting winners circle here that may change some things. Have you talked to anyone at VZ about trying to get into B2B wholesale sales here? It’s a different animal for sure but sales of this type overlaps with character traits for sales of another type. Meaning if your good at getting people to spend money at a Verizon store you can probably learn how to get good at getting companies to swap enterprise contracts for hundreds of lines from AT&T or T-Mobile to Verizon. So sounds like you have options! But yes a new job offer is only going to present the good. You will still have sales quota’s and drama just like any job.
@a2 great feedback thank you
@a2 with verizon i went to winners circle a couple times and on track to go again next year so I'm pretty good at sales. I just worry they are telling me all the good stuff and leaving out the bad.
It’s a good job I know someone that does it for AT&T. If it’s baseline as much or more than you make I recommend taking it. AT&T store reps and probably field sales are union. Meanwhile it’s not impossible for AT&T to close stores for quick cost cutting but it’s much more difficult for them to do so than for Verizon to. So you should have genuinely more job security in sales there than you will ever have here. Verizon is fine but you have to follow the money and stability and the way things are shaking out here I’m not confident you will find either in abundance here. I’m not 100% confident you will at AT&T either but I think your chances are better there than here right now. So I say go for it. But don’t settle there try to work your way up the sales leadership hierarchy and become a larger scale operator. Like where you manage multiple field sales guys. Then from there try to pivot into B2B wholesale sales within AT&T. There you will find real money if sales is something you like
