Also why I declined the package. It was very vague for us and very protective of them. Maybe if everyone who took the package hired ONE LAW FIRM.

@a1 Not true. The VSP paperwork says severance will be paid on a regular pay date "as soon as administratively feasible". No specific date or time frame is provided.

@OP Yep, bummer. and that's one of the reason I backed off from my "yes". I cannot pay October rent money until Halloween. yikes!

I would work/earnCentene$$ and get paid thru Sept 4th. But it sounded like 45 days(??) or so to get the final payout. ;(

That would mean I'd be without any paycheck after final/normal (1wk only) paycheck 09/11.

(yes, I have a couple of side hustles, but they won't cover all the main bills)

Since my creepy landlord is a dbag, he files lawsuits if rent is more than 16 days late...if you come to an agreement before the court date, it's almost an extra $1k in rental fines/court costs ect.

I called HR and they advised the following

With a separation date of 09/04 which is a date in between usual payment of our checks.

We will receive the severance document to sign that last day or the day after.

After we signed it they have to hold it for 7 days and payment can take 1-2 pay periods after that.

For folks with 09/04 separation it means we can be paid 09/11or 09/25 check.

Not sure if this is a different scenario but someone I know laid off early this year it was about 30-45 days after their last day they got the severance. Thats just what happened to them not sure if each time is same or different
