Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Sarah London...if you are Reading This

Sarah or anyone from her team, please provide clarification on what is happening? You preach transparency, but as you can see from this Forum, employees are feeling confused, uncertain and obviously need answers and what is happening to make good decisions about their future with Centene. PLEASE, provide more answers to your employees!

@bc Help me understand why emailing Sarah is being viewed as a negative thing? I saw it as a helpful suggestion rather than an attempt to downplay the situation or spin a narrative. It would be great if we could keep an open mind to different ways to approach this. It will be more like make her feel our pain type of situation.

@bc It’s the exact opposite. Wealthy people and celebrities aren't seeking public approval. Their success is a reminder of why we work hard: to build financial freedom, retire comfortably, and ensure our kids never have to answer to a boss. Instead of working for someone else, their kids are the ones creating jobs and running major corporations.

@aj

Translation: Stop humiliating me in public!!! I'm an IMPORTANT BOSS B!TCH BADDIE!!!
I INSIST that you keep any complaints about how I do business under wraps, or in venues where I can control the narrative!!

@b7 Honestly, I can see this from both sides. It’s a stressful time, and we absolutely need empathy right now as people navigate these VSP and layoff announcements. At the same time, looking at it from a business perspective, running a company takes immense work. Leaders and CEOs face heavy pressure from boards, just like we face pressures in our own roles and personal lives.
For me, the takeaway is that you always have to stay two steps ahead in corporate America. The moment the news broke, I immediately went into action mode—updating my resume, reviewing my finances, and planning my next steps. There is a lot of uncertainty, but job security is never guaranteed, so you just have to roll with the punches and be prepared. I don’t say that to invalidate anyone’s stress or livelihood, but at some point, focusing on what we can control and moving forward is the best option. (I am open minded to all views & we can agree to disagree respectfully).

@b6 I apologize sincerely. You got caught in the crossfire. Just blown away at the lack of empathy on this page.

@b5 Just so you know, that wasn't my post about getting over feelings! Someone else wrote that. It’s definitely hard to track who's who when it's an anonymous site with thousands of people chiming in.

@b4 no. I don’t care about sides. There are no sides. We are all humans trying to survive and get through life. I stated how I felt along with others and you tried to say we should get over it and move on and our feelings don’t matter? Now you’re changing your tune and saying all feelings are welcome? Bye. I’m bored

@b1 I guess you’re trying to figure out whose side I’m on! Please don't take this forum too seriously—all opinions are welcome here. 👍

@b2 so you’re not moving on then? Right over your head.

@b0 do you know what I do? Or are you trying to prove a point by passing a judgement on someone you don’t know? How do you know I’m not actively doing things outside of this page? you don’t. Why are you on this site if you have a problem with people voicing their thoughts on a lay off when this is a LAY OFF FORUM. Take that pill and move on remember?

@ay take your own advice!!!!! People are allowed to feel how they feel!!!!! Idc what you say or how many exclamation points you put!!!!! I care about the people who are impacted!!! Not the millionaires who don’t care or your opinion on my feelings!!!!

@a6 it was business …. This is corporate America and they are sharks !!! This is why they are paid to make these decisions. Was going to write hard decisions but it is not hard, it’s easy!!! They are not losing sleep at all over this as this does not affect them. My advise is take the pill and swallow it and move on !!!! Our career paths and life are our choice !!! If corporate America leaves a sour taste in your mouth, learn the lesson and start your own small business and forget this part of your career ever happened. We will all be ok at the end

@ak has she done that? You want us to do that but those rules don’t apply to her? I’ll be “mature” and reach out to her directly when they do that for us. Why are you here if you feel that way about this site anyway?

by

Post ID: @am+1kywcmw4p

It is easy to criticize someone from behind a screen, but it takes maturity to address concerns directly. If you want real results, try sending a professional email instead of just complaining online.

@ah If there is already a lack of trust, requesting her input seems counterintuitive, as her perspective is being dismissed beforehand. Rather than venting anonymously or unprofessionally online. send a constructive email detailing your specific concerns. Formal communication ensures your feedback is actually heard and addressed. Just saying….

@ag yeah that’s because she’s untrustworthy. Look at how she’s handled this. You actually expect people to believe her? Nobody is going to trust her moving forward. And the members of centene should be worried about their data at this point.

It is unlikely she is monitoring this forum or reading the thousands of opinions posted here. Furthermore, if she were to respond, users would likely doubt the authenticity of the comment. To increase your chance contact her directly via work email or LinkedIn. Just saying…

Sarah London does not care about any of us. She is making her Multimillion dollar salary. She can’t even tell you a name of a person on the front lines.

@a8 I’m not defending them. They don’t deserve defending. We owe it to ourselves to not be in denial l, that’s all. Yes it su-ks, but now what?

@a5 I was also part of the "AI First Team" as soon as I got the Anthropic certification I moved to a company that respects values and pays me at least 30% more than Centene with better benefits. Good luck I do not regret leaving this company at all.

@OP we have to keep that it was also mentioned that your approval was based on business need too. We are to assume that based business need is why there are various end dates.

@a6 Of course it was calculated, they want to control the outcome as much as possible, they’re not your friends. Look up “Centene: the gifts of the magi” on YouTube.

@a4 no they did NOT say it out loud until AFTER the VSP deadline. Stop giving them credit. What they did was sketchy and intentional. Regardless to if they’re saying now. It was calculated.

@a4 as an old AI team member ai can confirm this… Look in the market there are plenty of wfh jobs that pay good out there some people are afraid of changes

They’re saying it out loud. They’re not hiding it… AI automation for UM and outsourcing the human parts to pay less on FTEs. If you aren’t in that area you’ll last a little longer until they find use for AI and outsourcing to replace you in your area.

Tag her on LinkedIn she normally responds there and make it public so you can get an answer, I took the voluntary leave after 10 years and figure out that is a better market out there specially on IT, I had 3 interviews on my first 2 weeks and took an offer that pays me 40k more yearly compared to what I was making on centene. I hope you can find peace.
