I've seen it happen to three good people in the last couple of years. They asked questions, pushed back, or challenged a decision and within weeks, they saw repercussions. Their workload doubled, they became subject to constant criticism, and any support they had before simply vanished. They didn't get fired but they just got worn down until they quit. That's the BP way, I guess.
