I keep asking myself if I actually like this job anymore. The answer keeps changing and not in a good direction. The work itself is fine, but everything around it is draining. I can't remember the last time I felt excited to start the day.

you had any days you enjoyed your job? it's just a job and I only do it because I have bills to pay. all of my jobs past and present have been slogs.
Edit: auto correct changed my original statement of “ The enshitification of everything has hit and we have moved from innovation to profit extraction.”
It is probably because there is nothing new being created, and that isn’t just true for Cisco. It’s true for all of tech. The sensitization of everything has hit and we have moved from innovation to profit extraction. There is no more creativity or chasing of dreams. It is simply all about making as much money as possible and showing everyone all the stuff you can afford to buy. You simply can’t buy happiness and fulfillment. This will be a hugely unpopular statement, but I recommend you try to live for a higher purpose.
