I have been out on maternity leave so have definitely not been kept in the loop of what is going on. I am really worried and nervous if my job is in jeopardy and that I’m going to be blindsided. I wasn’t eligible for a VSP (been working for less than a year) but I still feel like some line of communication should have been directed at me. Am I wrong in thinking that?

They're not prioritizing you, even when it comes to basic communication.
That says it all, right there.
What else do you need to know?
Sometimes silence speaks volumes.
Don't wait for them to start caring, because they don't, and they won't.
They just showed you how much "value" they place on your employment with them: 0.
Professionally pivot accordingly.
@a5 the thing is and the question I had is that I have received zero communication at all. I know I wasn’t eligible for the VSP but I feel Iike I also should have received some kind of communication about what’s going on ( and have heard from those in other departments that their manager said I should have) so I wasn’t completely blindsided by changes when I get back but so far it’s been crickets
I absolutely understand that I was not eligible for the VSP but I was just thinking that even being out I should be receiving updates like everyone else is whether I was eligible or not
@a5 at least you were eligible for maternity leave based on your state for maternity leave…. You were not eligible for VSP based on less than 2 years …. If you are RIFed, can get unemployment or if you are saved from this round, can keep working until next round comes along. Do your job but most importantly, make time for family and your newborn as clearly our jobs are temporary. Many of us have 10 to 20 years plus and we will live in regret of giving too much to a job that as we see now, didn’t and does not care of what we have sacrificed to be here. I have given countless hours of my overtime, time away from living life with my family, all for what ?! Absolutely nothing to show for
@OP it was communicated that if you have been here less than two years, you were not eligible for the VSP. If you have been working at Centene less than a year and are out on maternity leave, you have been eligible for three months of bonding time, even though you’ve been here less than a year. I think that is a pretty great benefit. I don’t know many companies that offer that. Hopefully your job is safe and you will continue to be employed after you return from your maternity leave.
