They don't have to come on Friday anymore, and many of the recent layoffs haven't. In the past (4+ years ago) they almost always came on a payday Friday. Now it can be random and then they pay out for a few weeks after, so you get let go and a few weeks of paid "leave" before the official document comes for the severance. So don't just assume that if everyone made it thru a paid Friday everything is good.

This is probably the same person that just went over to the Freddie Mac page and said there’s layoffs this Friday.
