Transparency works both ways. You are essentially resigning and you should let your PL know

anyone who stays will not get a huge increase. i've been here over 8 years and have witnessed multiple mass layoffs - you just take on more work and more frustration when people leave and grit your teeth until the next layoff. i had no indication my personal position would be affected, but after 8 years of this i'm moving on to something that will not have all the federal/state cuts to worry about and that alone is worth the 7k pay cut i'm taking with my new employment

I just send an email to my manager with "my centene vsp has been accepted" for the title and in the body I put "just a head's up!" and cc'd my supervisor

Being stuck here till August 2027 just seems so crazy. Not that I cannot move onto something different but it’s such an adjustment when thinking ok out in Sept get a little money and regroup but now it’s a different shift in the brain!

I just forwarded the email to my PL. I had already told him and applied. His boss already knew I was approved before the notification date because they gave me the opportunity to reconsider after the withdrawal date.

I requested a 1 on 1 with my PL for Thursday. Still waiting for their acceptance to the meeting. Which is one of the reasons for accepting the VSP after almost 13 years with Centene. I have a feeling they already know and as usual being very non transparent! Sad the company nor their Sr PLs value hard working talented employees and choose non responsive communication!

@b7 If everyone left has to absorb the work of everyone leaving, it better come with a salary increase, or many more will leave.

I am a PL that did not know someone on my team had taken it. They reached out to me Tuesday morning and told me and their date was 9/4. I appreciated not finding out via the e-mail on 7/31. Was a short convo and just asked them to support transitioning their work to someone else over the next few weeks.

Regardless how you feel about the company and assuming you had a decent relationship with your PL it is the right thing to do professionally. If they take it personally or react poorly that is on them.

My PL knew that my app was accepted but didn't know my exit date.

Every PL will get a list of employees and VSP status Friday 7/31. Your reasons for accepting the offer is no one’s business.

If they ask-just be straightforward about it with your answer and don't say much more. That's the best way, honestly speaking. If they don't ask then that's a blessing.
