Some articles are stating one billion in profit this Quarter, but yah let’s continue to hire new board members and Sr leaders but layoff the employees doing all the work in the trenches. Or pushing those employees to opt in for VSP just to ensure they can feed their families. After 13 years with Centene, what you are seeing taking place right now is how they have always operated.

What is the specific goal of posting this data in this channel, and how should we utilize it moving forward? With the ongoing anxiety surrounding Centene's performance, the layoffs, and the VSP buyouts, it would be helpful to understand the intent behind this update.

Good catch. It's a 0.9% drop today, not 9%. The 17 cents stands!

@an cutting and pasting the OP (yourself) doesn’t change the fact that CNC dropped 17 cents today, not 9%.

Centene's stock dropped nearly 9% today despite beating Q2 2026 profit and revenue expectations. The decline was driven by two key factors:
Medicaid Headwinds: Higher projected operational challenges ahead.

Member Attrition: Increased premium-paying member losses in Medicaid.

While current financial performance remains strong, the market is laser-focused on these long-term enrollment risks. We will see how management plans to stabilize the Medicaid baseline moving forward.

@a7 not sure what you mean there, but it’s down and more so after hours. We’ll need to see where it settles in after a week or so.

@a3 A bounce doesn’t erase the reason it fell. Look at the volume today and yesterday. That’s also part of the story playing out. Oscar is being rewarded (up over 10% today) for confidence in future growth. Centene is being asked to prove that restructuring, outsourcing, and cost reductions can become a durable operating model, not just improve the next few quarters. Look to see where analysts end up in the week or so ahead.
