Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

RM&C Ask Me Anything

Let’s light JR up on this call today. Doubt we get truthful answers, but would be fun to watch her squirm.

@h1 You're about as smart as a box of rocks. Current stock price is a very short term measure. Destroy the employee base's morale (ya know, the major component of a service business) and you fu---d yourself long term. Gunjan the d-mb one will run off with her golden parachute first and blame the pending decline on the next CEO. You must not follow long term business trends or have any experience in business beyond your current peon role.

@h1 GK is focused on the USB ticker number to please the shareholders and it is priority #1. However, a true leader / CEO should do more than just that one thing. A very very close priority #2 must be taking good care of the company's employees.

It is common sense that priority #2 is what is the driving force of priority #1's success.

No leader in the history of mankind has won a war without an army. None. Mercenaries (contractors) don't win wars, citizens who are trained soldiers (employees) do. Because they have a vested interest in giving their everything to win the war. It is not that hard to connect these dots.

@fv lol, you've seen the stick price right, board picked the right leader

@bz What has happened to this bank, you ask? A woman named Gunjan who immigrated to the US from India somehow convinced the Board that she is qualified to be the CEO so she was placed in that role, regardless of the fact she has no ability to lead a company that consists of a large team of human beings. She has zero Emotional Intelligence (research the term if you don't know what this means). The HR cuck is similarly unqualified. Gunjan is a disaster for the future of this bank.

“Ask me” same non-relevant questions RTO spun a different way and perhaps get a blowout before these calls just saying

Didn’t get much out of that call, filling the RTO questions framed 12 different ways that didn’t address anything substantive. Let’s address people coming in from home and other offices to a filthy dirty non-kept office… So much for Covid. We can start our own bacterial situation.

Unfortunate the focus has to be on RTO, folks let that topic go already… As far as outsourcing what about the folks here from India that treat fellow Indian coworkers like dirt, I’m one of them and I didn’t move to the United States to be treated terrible. I can move back home for that nonsense. What has happened to this bank?

@bj those individuals will be in person in U.S. Bank office - the Indian Hub. They will not be remote.

@bg yeah it’s interesting how the absolute most important thing in the world is to be in office to collaborate but somehow that doesn’t apply when it comes to the positions they’re outsourcing to other countries.

I wonder how we are supposed to collaborate in person with our colleagues in GCC.

@b1 my remote manager is now working at a client service center or whatever they’re called. I haven’t asked him directly but feels as though he was forced to RTO. We’re a team of 5 or so and everyone is at a different hub. As mentioned on the call, one additional purpose of RTO is now networking lol

Are remote people managers being required to work out of a hub now? Sorry, I'm from a different line of business and am learning from all of you.

I think at this point she likes all the RTO questions cause she has a scapegoat to talk about and gaslight how she "has already answered" while avoiding all the questions that focus on bigger issues like long term employees pension removal, compensation, hub consolidation, outsourcing, "not laying off" layoffs, but remember "just move, its easy"

Entire call was a big fat nothing burger. Tough questions were obviously screened. Kept referring to people managers being asked to get to a HUB but failed to even mention 40% of remote Corporate Compliance being bounced already.

I found the "choose not to answer anything" fulfilling

Wow! JR’s key to her success is sitting in an office and relocating! It’s simple. Just uproot your entire life and move 1,000+ miles.
