Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Charlotte or Dallas

Which would you have picked if you had the option? Charlotte would make sense only for commute to work and cost of living. Dallas on the other hand has lots of companies if T lays you off a year later. Both cities are new to family and kids are still in schools.

Charlotte is only a so-called hub because of Baich. Given that he never stays anywhere more than a few years, and he’s already been at T for three years, how much longer do you think he’ll be there? And how long do you think Charlotte will remain a mini-hub once he’s gone?

I'd choose Charlotte over anywhere Texas. To each their own.

Charlotte is a fake hub invented by Baich. If you aren't CSO, don't go there. If you are CSO, still don't go there. Baich is 2-faced liar and you'll regret being under his command chain. If you don't have AIG or Wells Fargo experience, you'll be high on the layoff list.

Don’t move for $, move for all the great career opportunities at headquarters. Plano will be the new place on the block, so less commute…. Yea

Consider Charlotte has state income tax of 3.99% while Dallas does not. They both have 8.25% sales tax. Charlotte has lower property tax @ 0.4924/100 vs Dallas @ 0.6988/100. If your goal is still stay with T as long as possible Dallas will have more opportunity, but you should REALLY be questioning your goals at that point.

“If T lays you off”…. That’s funny… You mean, “When T lays you off…”
