Leaders seen amuck trying to save their jobs.
chucky and j2 need more money. i were a gambler id bet on more layoffs.
ai nonsense is nothing more than re-arranging deck chairs. more corporate excuses. more claims of deepening investment in ai.
meanwhile it's a cluster-f with these companies paying one another. openai pays nvidia for chips and nvidia invests back into openai.
99% of ppl on this board know ai is overhyped and will not deliver the results c-level execs keep hyping because of rising token costs and difficulty monetizing or proving value. ai will not disappear entirely but it will see a pullback in time possibly similar to dotcom 2001.
say all you want about ai adoption and popularity, when service costs increase and economic times worsen, companies always scale down. its already happening.
Can't AI track tickets?
Why the he-l would you pay someone with a marketing/basket weaving degree $130k - AT A TECH COMPANY - to track. fu--ing. tickets????????
@dd "zombies, paper pushers with PMs or account executives or whatever other titles"
Lol! They are fu--ing useless
They need to do the tests on all of them similar to ones in other industries to see if they have narcissistic or sociopathic tendencies and get rid of the ones with questionable histories.
We just went the opposite way recently. In 10Y they managed to replace managers who were technicall back when they started their career with some zombies, paper pushers with PMs or account executives or whatever other titles these guys have these days. There is a useless layer of individuals that speak with the customer and negotiate all sort of crapehen the sh-t hits the fan. They NEVER achieve anything significant that would help the technical teams. Their only concern is to keep the customer happy at any cost.
We had technical people who wanted to transition to managerial positions but they were denied this right.
So now we are escalating issues or the customers do it and we are completeley exposed on technical issues. We need to spend days or weeks to teach these mo--ns what to say word for word , so we can get the expected outcame that would address the issue or solve the problem.
First line managers are just ticket trackers, No value add, but acts like they own everything.
HR often visits these sites in pursuit of employees pulse... what everyone is thinking and trending. More folks should bring inefficient management tactics that managers use to keep their own jobs, blame team and individuals in the name of performance deficiency.
Long overdue.
nothing is more frustrating than when you observe your leader doesn't measure up to their peers but rather they focus on improving they blame their team due to their lack of management skills
Believe it when it happens. This ‘Cisco cutting management layers’ rumor comes around every few months and nothing ever changes. Company’s still bloated with managers. Would love to see actual action instead of the same recycled talk, bring in people who are actually motivated to make this lean.
We live in an interesting time with AI
