No pay range listed?

Even when I was still employed at WF several jobs posted did not list the salary. I had to email the recruiter listed and ask them what the pay was. I've found that this behavior has increased and not just at WF. Is saying you want a job for the money really so taboo? Why would anyone apply for a job when they don't know how much it pays?

Most jobs I get recruited for don’t mention a range and make me feel like I’m selfish or in the wrong for wondering. I generally just tell them what I make and then they either go away or let me know it’s worth pursuing.

Some states require companies to list a range. I'm ok with them listing large ranges to at least know the minimum.

Maybe should be a federal law.

It's because when they ask your expected salary during the interview process they think more than likely you'll undervalue yourself and if you ask for more than they want to give they can go with a cheaper candidate. It's a win win for them.
