Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

My three biggest issues with Oracle

People who take credit for things I did and then getting promoted based on it, managers who keep making false promises but never actually delivering on them, and cowardly managers who never bother to stand up for their people. I know for a fact this is not just my experience and the fact that it's happening to plenty others shows there's something deeply wrong with this place.

@hj that is some of the worst logic I have ever heard... good luck finding your next job. They are asking hard questions now...

Actually, it is a legitimate question. There are a lot of people who claim to have had credit for their work taken from them. If this is actually true why would you stand by and let it happen? You wouldn't. This tells me most of the claims are BS.

OP, if you can prove that you actually did the work then why didn't you hold them accountable for plagiarizing your work? You are a huge part of the problem if you just rolled over.

Is this political behavior worse at Oracle compared to other companies?

Yes-people do this to an org. They stay silent when their reputation is at stake and watch how others react to appear aligned. They may complain to you privately, but won't speak up publicly. They are influential non-leaders.

@OP nailed it. Several people, specifically in the old GIUs operate in this manner. Politically energized. Also, there many leaders in roles where they actually dont know the industry.....it well known in theae organizations but nothing gets addressed....

Big time to keep the employees who actually do the work and flatten the management layers.
