Unemployment Insurance in NY if accepting VSP

Anyone been able to confirm with the state of New York if they would approve of the UI Claim after being laid off due via the VSP? Sounds like each state is different. Based on my initial readings, sounding like this'd be an eligible scenario for UI benefits in NY.

Thanks everyone, OP here. I’m contacting a lawyer here as NY DOL couldn’t be reached. The main consideration here is that Centene is initiating this ahead of restructure / RIF so the fact that it’s “voluntary” is just one part of this. Doesn’t disqualify outright for Unemployment.

@OP because its voluntary, you may not be entitled to unemployment benefits. I was ask a lawyer though.

Surprise, surprise…if you live in a blue state you are much more likely to be able to get unemployment benefits (NY included). Live in the South? Well, you get what you voted for.

I read somewhere and don’t quote me, but if you get a letter from HR stating it was because of restructuring, you have a better chance of getting it in some state.
