Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Any truth to the July 2026 layoff rumors?

I've been hearing more people talk about upcoming layoffs and I'm dreading the idea of waiting around hoping I make it through another round.

Are these allegedly ongoing cuts legitimate, or are a few residual managers getting axed and people are panicking?

It is happening quietly under our nose. Need to shift resources to manufacturing so non-essentials will be let go. Notice that funding for most projects has turned for quarterly budget based to MDF or some slush fund based on VPs discretion. Squeezed on all sides.

The layoff does not need any performance review. The manager will just say "Intel does not need data scientist anymore", and get people out. Intel does not need engineers, it just need silent d-mb followers who can help the corporation to hide the corruption and cheating.

They’re planning two rounds at once. This upcoming one more performance-related and timed with mid-year reviews. The next round will be centered on adherence to the RTO policy after looking at a year’s worth of data.

Keep an eye on middle management outlook calendars. They’ve been having HC discussions. Only a matter of time before their plans are announced. Wait however long you feel necessary. Don’t expect the leadership games to end anytime soon.

Intel has not made any money in past two or more years, big loss quarter after quarter. But the company need funding, it will grab your salary and kick you out. The layoff is quarterly and it is coming in July to hide the big loss in Q2.
