Feels like Centene has been trying to outsource a lot of work lately. Does anyone know if that actively happening?

It really depends. Some state contracts have a clause that indicate a percentage of employees must reside in the same state as the contract. This is done to prevent outsourcing.
Yes they are outsourcing and have been for a long time. As matter of fact there have been many new "external" employees I have seen leaving remarks from many depts in claims ops especially over the last couple weeks. I may not work with them directly but I have worked claims for these states for many years and you remember the names of the people leaving remarks on the regular.
No, they’re not outsourcing. They're just paying non-employees to do work previously done by employees.
It’s cheaper that way and the shareholders love it.
