People..
October is going to be huge, directly sourced from management. I am calling it red October me. For you naysayers, add a reminder to your calendars for Halloween and come back here to talk about your worst nightmare and then thank me for alerting then!

@ax HAHAHAHAHA like legislators care ... OMG wake up
@ab Quite the story you've woven, get some rest
@ev you are TOTALLY wrong. How do you explain over3 2k to less total count in the org chart over last month? Also the layoffs are happening in small phrase , divided amongst states.
@a8 Oh wow, “the word is”… from who, your cousin’s barber’s roommate who “knows a guy in IT”? 😂
If companies actually operated like this overnight, it wouldn’t be whispered in a random thread—it’d be front-page news, SEC filings, and executives tripping over themselves on earnings calls trying to explain it. But sure, let’s go with your anonymous doom prophecy.
At this point, these posts feel less like leaks and more like people trying to outdo each other with who can invent the most dramatic scenario. Next update: 50% layoffs, offices turned into Spirit Halloween stores, and engineers replaced by ChatGPT running on a Raspberry Pi.
If you’ve got actual sources, share them. If not, this is just fear cosplay dressed up as “insider knowledge.”
@eq Sure, because Optum only replaces people with the highest-caliber talent from India, right?
Oct will be another trash day where Optum cleans out house of the low performers only.
@ab Understood but could you please just shorten your messages, these 20 pages you are writing and cluttering up the page. Let’s get to the point.
@ag You type this same foolishness in each thread. Do-g you have some work to get back to? 😆
@ax what are you saying.. you do realize it's a fictional story right..it's a AI generated horror story from this thread.
@ab thanks for sharing. This definitely is good information for any legislator to look into it. This may be the only way to reveal the dirty things. Also agree how many Indians so called leaders played the dirty roles there.
Historically, there are layoffs in October. After the 3rd quarter earnings are released. They want to end the year better.
AI slop.
Mom Take away his INTERNET! and I think he is off his meds
Here's a short horror-fiction version inspired by the themes in this thread. Enjoy!
Red October
The rumors started in March.
At first, people disappeared one at a time. A manager's calendar went dark. A director's name vanished from the org chart overnight. Their desks remained untouched for weeks, monitors glowing faintly in empty cubicles like candles in a mausoleum.
Management said nothing.
They smiled during town halls. They spoke of transformation, efficiency, and global growth. Meanwhile, new faces appeared on late-night calls from overseas offices. The headcount reports never seemed to change, even as entire teams quietly evaporated.
Then came the India trips.
Zmuda and her loyal shadow spent months there. Officially, they were attending leadership summits and strategy sessions. Unofficially, people whispered that they were building something. Preparing for something.
Nobody knew exactly what.
I was SG32. I saw pieces others didn't.
Meeting invites labeled confidential. Budget transfers that made no sense. Directories filled with names that hadn't existed a month before. New directors waiting in the wings while old ones unknowingly prepared their own replacements.
The date appeared repeatedly in documents that should never have crossed my screen.
October.
No explanation. Just October.
One evening I stayed late and noticed a spreadsheet open on a shared drive. Thousands of names. Beside each was a date. Most were in the future.
Some of the names belonged to people sitting twenty feet away from me.
At the bottom of the list was a final entry:
December, Week 1 — Complete Cleaning.
Cleaning.
Not layoffs. Not restructuring.
Cleaning.
That night I checked the employee directory again.
Something felt wrong.
The number of employees displayed at the top hadn't changed in months.
Yet I knew hundreds were gone.
I started counting names manually.
The total was impossible.
There were more active employees listed than existed in the company.
Some entries had no photos. No manager. No employment history.
Just names.
Watching.
Waiting.
Holding places.
The next morning, the spreadsheet was gone.
By October, nobody mentioned the missing people anymore. It was as if they had never worked there at all.
Only the headcount remained, frozen and smiling from executive presentations.
A perfect illusion.
And then I found my own name on the list.
No date.
Just one word beside it.
Observer.
I searched for answers. That search eventually led me here.
But I've already said too much.
If this post disappears, you'll know why.
And if your employee directory suddenly shows the same number tomorrow as it did today...
Start counting.
@a1 op is referring to the Q3 layoffs brewing. The word is 30% reduction in IT workforce, close a bunch of low performance clinics, pull out of low margin markets, offshore remaining engineering , supposed, HR, pocessors roles (they are opening a bunch of new GCOs). Red probably refers to the savage blood bath when 1000s of US positions are butchered
Oh my, could you share more?
