And when that happens, it tells you all you need to know about this place. It means being unemployed and uncertain is somehow less stressful than staying here one more day. Think about how bad things have to get for that to make sense. That is where we are now.

My thought... if they leave with nothing lined up, good. They probably did actually care about their work anyways.
Its an unwise idea to turn in your notice and not have something already lined up, this economy and job market all indicate we are in a recession... its just not official yet. My unemployment ran out by months before I found another job.
@OP Same reason people walk away from an abusive marriage - lower their standard of living to get some peace. I get it
Not a good idea in this environment...high inflation, high unemployment and tons of new college graduates looking for work....good luck.
There are also a lot of people retiring early or getting out soon after turning 62 just to get out of the toxic work environment. That says a lot considering this company doesn't provide any retirement insurance benefits. Most are riding on their spouse's employer or retirement insurance plans which are typically better than what regular employees are offered at EH.

That's exactly what they want. Make people miserable until they quit so they don't have to payout severance. Stay strong and "quiet quit" if you have to. Don't let them win. If they want to get rid of you, let them pay you while you look for better.
