Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Anyone else tired of “managers” taking all the credit

Not even a single manager in this company seems to work on anything other than “stakeholder management” and preparing presentations for leadership.

Meanwhile, the individual contributors who actually get the work done are excluded, discarded, and overlooked, while their work is celebrated only to stroke the egos of so-called leaders. That’s the reality of Verizon today.

my manager is a pointy-haired weirdo who always stole credit for himself. he also would blame other people for things he did. Dan, if you read this, force every people-leader to provide a 3 full page written description of what they do. Then load them into AI and tell it to get rid of 15000 losers! jajajajajaja

I have never once experienced that in accounting.

After the acquisition by Verizon, I noticed not only a tendency to take credit from individual contributors but also recurring turf wars between managers and a focus on presentations over actual work.
Honestly, a snake pit!

It’s been that way since the beginning of time.
