Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I do my job to best of my ability and go home. MY job. Not everyone else's.

A few years ago, this career became just a job.

My only motivation is pay day, and putting food on the table.

No climbing the corporate ladder
No MVP photo op.
No spreadsheets.
No daily reports.
No metrics.

I do my job to best of my ability and go home. MY job. Not everyone else's.

I think this is how most of us see the job these days, @ct+1kpc62cbh. It's sad that it came to this. But seeing it as anything more is foolish.

Look for another job. I was in the same situation. I landed another job within VZ. Now I only do my job. My old position I was doing the work of 3 departments.

Do just as much as your middle managers and ADs .... the bare minimum.

That's not living... do the best in the 8 hrs allocated. If our leaders do not lead by doing things differently and more efficiently, look for another leader deserving your time and energy.

Because thats what you were hired to do.

Lets say you own a small business...200 folks coming in and doing stuff. WOULD you want to keep paying the people who showed up and did little to nothing? So think of it from that perspective.

I do my job to best of the ability of people who do the least. Why do more when others do less and the same performance rating.
