Making existing employees apply to their current jobs sounds a lot like what that ginger woman in CA made a bunch of employees do once. I am not shocked that they fired the guy in Asia. That is Cengage's loss.

Are you sure he wasn’t told to deeply discount / pull up the sale to this fiscal year so the head of Asia sales… up to NK could show that they made their number and therefore bonus?… and possible IPO? Something smells fishy on management. Taking a playbook from the US HED!!
The Asia guy story is true. I checked because it sounded unbelievable ! What a mess.
The hunger games of people applying for jobs they already have due to the restructuring feels reminiscent of project horizon again. So stressful for those involved.
Apparently in asia the gale guy brought $5 million in on the last day saving the Cengage Asia’s number ( ELT and HE Asia had missed by millions) . What do you think happened to him on April 1st? They fired him and promoted the people who had tanked the year. You cant make this sh*t up. Shameful even by Cengage’s usual shoddy behaviour. Moral to the story: new executives who don’t know a market claim credit for people delivering and promote toadying underlings
First Friday Slack channel seems awfully quiet.
Last week of March, they fired some CMs and the Research director. That's all I know of. Some reorg happened in the global content production and research team at that time.
What positions are being eliminated?
@kx employees are told to apply for jobs? yikes. Some of my colleagues are becoming bolder in expressing their frustrations, even to leadership. I think they're ready to leave and already applying, so they're not scared anymore.
@j0 people positions are being eliminated and now people are being told to apply for jobs that they already do which are now between two business units that have been amalgamated which means people have to fight people to keep their jobs
